Hi Jason,

Thanks for the tip, it's working now perfect.
Here my little problem for other user with the same issue. The MUX labeled buttom is actually the setting of the pre-amp, just that the range is from 0 to +40 dB. Everything over +20 dB gain is to much for the mic in, so set it to half on its scale and it works just fine.
Thank you so much!!!

When I have more time then right now I would like to come back to you to figure out what my last problem on my machine, the suspend, is. I followed the description here but suspends allways stop after the non-boot cpu and screen stay on. I have to press the power buttom for complet reboot!

Thanks for you help. And big compliments for this side, it help already a lot to get the system of your choise to run on your MacBook!

Yes, I can code, but I do not know about the structures and functions to report a double click. It seems easy, if you button-click with two fingers report double-click.
can you outline a sketch? can you give me some references or links to learn how to do it? Thank you.

Ohh, I see.. I wasn't aware of that feature, but I can see it being useful. I'm pretty busy right now, but may be in a few weeks I could add it. If you can code, don't be intimidated by the kernel module, it's not too bad ;)

Hello,
I did not mean a two finger tapping. I meant a Click on the big button down the
trackpad, while pressing with two fingers on the trackpad, in the same way it works in MacOsX by default. Two fingers tapping and two fingers scrolling already works.

Thank you very much

Hi Yoshua,

Luckily for you, this functionality is built into the synaptics driver :)

Take a look at <a href="http://www.jasonparekh.com/linux-on-macbook/" rel="nofollow">http://www.jasonparekh.com/linux-on-macbook/</a> at the trackpad section and configure your system similarly and both two finger tapping and two finger scrolling should work.

Let me know if you run into problems,
jason

Hey Mark,

For me on Feisty, the second control in the recording mixer (labeled Mux) works as a preamp, try that and let me know.

Hi Jason,
I have a Debian Etch Kernel 2.6.20.7 running on my MacBook.
I followed your description for the changes to get the MIC work and it was successful.
The only problem is that the sound-level of the recorded voice is very low which might be because of no Mic-Boost support right now.
Did you experienced similar problems or do you have any ideas what I can do to increase my Mic-quality?
Thanks for your help!

May it be possible to modify the module so that a button click with two fingers
pressing on the trackpad will be a second button click? Just as it woks in MacOs X
